I looked at the glass window and wondered, is someone looking at me from the other side? I hoped there was. I would have liked that. It could have been someone I used to date, or someone from the hospital. No, it didn’t matter. Let it be anyone. 

Maybe you’d smile. Maybe you’d walk over to me and say hello. And maybe, I would return the pleasantry with an elegant nod, pretend that is all my busy mind could manage and walk away, as I always did.
